The Sant Jordi Festival of this 2022 in Reus is marked by the return to normality after the pandemic, with stalls of bookshops and flower shops, located in the Plaza del Mercadal, and of different entities distributed throughout the surrounding streets and squares, from the Cementiri Vell to the Plaza Prim. In total there are 62 stands of entities, 11 florists and 10 bookstores.
The atmosphere of the Festival has been lived from early in the morning, although the rain has made an appearance from midday. Activities of all kinds will take place throughout the day in the square, with a prominent role for the local authors who sign their novelties and for Gabriel Ferrater in the year that marks the centenary of his birth and that the Ferrater Year is commemorated .
Among the highlights of the Festival there was the Gabriel Ferrater Reading Marathon, which was opened by the mayor of the city, Carles Pellicer, and the deputy mayor, Noemí Llauradó, and later, at 12:30, the Councilor for Culture and Language Policy, Daniel Recasens, has presented an infographic book by Gabriel Ferrater.
