The women’s FC Barcelona will defend the title in the UEFA Women Champions League final on May 21 at the Turin Stadium. The group coached by Jonatan Giráldez lost at the Volkswagen-Arena in Wolfsburg (2-0) but made the 5-1 win in the first leg played at the Camp Nou stand out. Goals from Wassmuth (minute 47) and Roord (minute 59) added excitement to the tie. The culers didn’t concede another goal and were able to celebrate their place in the final on the pitch of the German stadium.
Rafel Navarro will not miss the European event. The Gandesian coach, Giráldez’s assistant, will again accompany the Barça team as he did last year when the coach was Lluís Cortés. Navarro will seek that second continental title with the FC Barcelona players to continue making history in women’s football.
