Sofía Gabanna, rap with an air of freedom for the FiM

Buenos Aires saw the birth of a musical talent who has been raised in Barcelona since he was 3 years old. Sofía Gabanna (2000) fights against the labels of «being Nathy Peluso’s sister» to build her own musical transit, wrapped in the most vindictive rap. Her productions have become a hymn to freedom of expression, mental health and social concerns.

On digital platforms, the Sofía Gabanna phenomenon has taken on major overtones. For example, Cuéntame, one of her first compositions, has a total of 2.6 million views on YouTube. The present one of hers is adjusted to the EP that she has just published, I killed love. The work is made up of seven songs in the shape of a bullet with which she intends to stir consciences and shake up the country’s urban scene a little.

Sofía Gabanna has experienced countless musical styles since she was very young: from Argentine rock to flamenco, passing through blues, jazz, hip hop and rap. Influenced by artists like Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys or Missy Elliot, the Hispanic-Argentine took the rap genre as a reference to start writing on boom bap bases and reciting rhythmically. After fusing her creations with various styles, Sofía Gabanna has found a unique and unmistakable sound.

To achieve this, he has worked with Lupita’s Friends, a regular producer of Hard GZ. The rapper herself extols, in each track of the new EP, that producer’s work that she considers so crucial for her songs.

All the new material, together with his previous successes, will be exhibited on the Great Stage of the Castell de Vila-seca this Saturday, starting at 10:00 p.m. Without a doubt, it is one of the most attractive claims of the Emergent and Family Music Fair of Vila-seca for this 2022.

The show will last approximately 45 minutes and will be accompanied by the voice of the artist, José Mari Aznar on guitar and Marcel Martí as DJ.
