‘Sabor Salou’: The gastronomic fair par excellence

Salou pays tribute to the restoration and PDO and gourmet products of the territory, through the gastronomic fair ‘Sabor Salou’. It will be held on the weekend of May 6, 7 and 8, on Paseo Jaume I, with 35 exhibitors, 27 restaurants, and the possibility of enjoying a variety of tastings, various workshops, activities and a children’s area, and musical performances for the young people.
Visitors will be able to enjoy the best of each stop, resting in the terrace spaces, set up for the occasion. The price of each tasting will be 3 euros. ‘Sabor Salou’ has been organized by the Economic Dynamization area; together with the collaboration of the areas of Cultural Services and Youth.
The schedule will be Friday, from 5 to 11 p.m.; on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The inauguration of the event, next Friday, May 6, will be attended, as a guest, by Marta Domènech, general director of Tourism of Catalonia, a great reference in the gastronomic, oenological and tourist aspects. She will be accompanied by the mayor Pere Granados, as well as the councilors of the Salou City Council.
Likewise, throughout the three days, a festival will be held, organized by the Cultural Services area and the Department of Youth, starting at 8:00 p.m., with music aimed at young people, which will complement the restaurant offer.
‘Sabor Salou 2022’ will also once again have Europa FM as the Official Broadcaster of the gastronomic event; which will be in charge of the music, throughout the weekend; with the collaboration of the Institut Català del Vi (INCAVI). In addition, Coca-Cola and San Miguel will be present, which will liven up the fair, with different activities and raffles.
This new edition foresees a very good reception, due to the great expectation on the part of all citizens. In the last edition that was held, in 2019, 50,000 tastings were served and more than 42,000 visitors were registered.
It should be noted that Salou made a firm commitment to promoting gastroenology some time ago, to become a benchmark tourist attraction, through collaboration with the Associació d’Empresaris d’Hostaleria de Salou (AEH), headed by Salou chef Pep Moreno.
