Since the 2018 L’art de la pedra seca: coneixements i tècniques will be included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, most municipalities of the Camp de Tarragona have been eager to donate to know this value. From the beginning, Rodonyà is working to be able to offer, the most aviat possible, due routes, with the visitor he will be able to find different types of elements and constructions fetes amb stone, emphasizes the diary the mayor. Enric Ferre.
One is on municipally owned land. But the one that is more advanced in terms of temps is the other, which is troba located on private land. But the City Council has established agreements with both masters because people could visit them.
The route that, in principle, is the most aviat in Marxa is called Plana Morella i la Cova Faiet. It is about two kilometers from the nucli urbà. Yes, you can get to Peu and also in a private vehicle. Per això, ja s’ha enabled a parking space, which on the second day the owner will cede to the Town Hall.
The route is less than a kilometer and runs for a long distance, with a minimum slope. It will consist of some dotze elements, including two cocoons, two barraques (one of them double), two amagatalls, a planter, some stairs and two aixoplucs. Each construction site will have a plafo, with its corresponding QR code.
Currently, the project is in its second phase, which consists of the seva drafting in order to determine the exact path of the route and the necessary signaling, «I am looking if we can incorporate another barrack that is on purpose, which is d ‘an other owner’, comments the mayor. Aquest recognizes that the initiative is more likely to materialize the proper year, “because we are pending the subsidies that may arrive.”
This visit to elements of dry stone is complementary to both one to the cova del Faiet. Located at the Plana Morella area, it is a record written since the end of the 19th century. Faiet, etymologically, comes from «jaiet».
This cavitat, located at the prop of the urban core of Rodonyà, was privately owned. The owner is going to cede it to the City Council because they recovered and possessed the value of this karstic cavity. Tea dues overtures, small in diameter and for which it happens for just one person.
Amb aquest agreed, l’Ajuntament will begin to act in this industry. The first of the three phases will consist of the destruction and evaluation of the cave. This tea about five meters of height per about 2.5×3 d’enlarged.
One of the surprises that is going to be found is that inside the cavity there were stalagmites and stalactites. Those who are honest have more than a meter of height.
The second runs
The second route is along the coast of the camí ral –in the past it was equivalent to a road–, which goes from Vilafranca to Montblanc, to the area called Bassa Nova, which is on anava a beure el bestiar. The route will be 600 meters and is about the houses of the urban core. “It’s a humid area,” emphasizes Ferré.
This route is more for hikers. Here, the visitor is trobarà amb the barraca del Jandó, which is municipally owned. Every November, during a few days on the dry stone, a fortnight of workshop participants will help to recover this heritage element, all of which have been part of the feina amb stonemasons.
The volunteers will also fix a bed and a high chair. Apart from these constructions, the visitor will find a “traditional architecture” cistern, in addition to passing the camí ral, which will end up in the Bassa Nova.
“They are heritage elements that must be valued,” emphasizes the mayor. For the seva part, the heritage technician who assesses the City Council in the program of preservation and value of the dry stone of the municipality, Isidre Pastor, said that «by insisting on the municipal proposal of promoting initiatives for the preservation of dry stone, ja siguin barraques, marges or any other element. These proposals passen tant for the actions of conservation of the structures with the training, awareness or diffusion. And it is in this line that the projects of the two itineraris that have been defined now are marked, with the following of groups and activities that have been carried out in the last years».
The objective, said Pastor, «is that people participate and are involved in pro d’aquest patrimonial referent of traditional architecture that is fet amb the technique of dry stone. Dinàmiques, de les quals, en bona part, ens fem particicipes els tècnics del patrimoni cultural, que es el cas, contribuïm a promote and boost this reality of our traditional architecture».
