Roda de Berà will hold a contest to reward the million roses

The City Council of Roda de Berà, through the Councilor for Culture and Festivities, will celebrate the days May 7 and 8 the Concurs de Roses at the exhibition hall of the Patronat de Turisme, to the Sardana squarewith the collaboration of Garden Pagès, Flower and Ingrid Virgili Floral Art & Events.

All those people, beginners or amateurs, from Catalonia who grow roses and who register before May 6 can participate through the form available on the City Council website or in person at the Hotel d’Entitats.

To compete, it is possible to choose one or more of the three types of competition, the most beautiful rose, the most fragrant and the cultivated roses in test or container.

Pel that goes to the first mode, the Jurat will have in compte the beauty and health status of the rose. After a second, a single member of the Jurat will carry out the assessment to respect the covid-19 measures. Finally, for the third mode it will be essential that the roses have sprouted into the container.

For each one, a first prize of 75 euros is awarded, a second prize of 50 euros and a third prize of 25 euros, and a Garden Pagès roser for all of them. All the participants also received a diploma and a lot of Flower products.

The Jurat will be chaired by the Mayor Pere Virgili, and will act as vocals Teresa Ferré, Councilor for Culture of the City Council; Ramón Pagès, from Garden Pagès; Àngel Jubete, from Flower; Ingrid Virgili, from the Ingrid Virgili Floral Art & Events shop; i Roberto Marzano, gardening enthusiast.
