The important storm that fell during the night of yesterday, Wednesday, in practically all of Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre has caused significant damage to the electricity network. Some municipalities are still without power and Endesa sources point out that they will continue like this for hours as the damage is significant. And this despite the numerous troops they have posted throughout the territory to repair the breakdowns.
Endesa sources pointed out that at ten this morning there were a total of 2,600 customers without electricity service.
One of the problems was concentrated in Tarragona due to a lightning strike on a transformer located in Arrabassada, which affected customers in this municipality and in La Pobla de Montornès. Technicians are replacing the transformer.
Another important breakdown was between Vallclara and Ulldemolins due to the fall of a cable. The technicians will take longer to repair this breakdown, which affects Vilanova de Prades.
The municipalities of Capafonts, Cornudella de Montsant and Pradell de la Teixeta are also without power.
Endesa has eight generator sets distributed at different points to supply electricity to customers who have run out. Likewise, thirty teams, who have been working all night, are working to repair the breakdowns.
In Vila-seca, for example, lightning struck a tower. Technicians cannot access it with the necessary machinery because the terrain is impassable.
