The leader of Junts in the Barcelona City Council, Elsa Artadi, announced this Friday that she is leaving politics and has stressed that it is a personal decision: “I can’t take it anymore. I don’t have the energy to continue serving citizens as they deserve. I don’t I feel strong enough to continue.”
She said it in an appearance in the town hall, visibly moved, accompanied by the president of the Parliament, Laura Borràs, and the councilors of the municipal group Jordi Martí, Neus Munté, Francina Vila and Ferran Mascarell.
In this way, Artadi renounces being the party’s candidate for Mayor for the municipal elections of 2023 after being chosen on February 3 after a primary process in which she was the only one who presented herself to lead the list of Junts a the Catalan capital.
