Dow Tarragona, through the seu Inclusion Council, will organize a volunteer action to participate in the 31st Championship of Catalonia of Absolute Boccia, a Paralympic esport that allows the participation of players with high levels of functional diversity. About 40 volunteers will contribute to the correct development of this sports day.
The contested competition will have this day, at the municipal Pavelló of Pobla de Mafumet. The competition will take place all day long and will be characterized by an environment of sports, emotion, overcoming and effort. The origins of boccia date back to classical Greece, rescued in the 1980s from the past century in the Nordic countries, which are adapted to people with functional diversity. This esport has a semblance of petanque, considering that it is a difference in the material, the dimensions of the camp and in some standards of the game, it can be disputed in teams and/or individually.
On this occasion, the competition will designate the millionest boccia players at the individual level. A total of 14 esportistes from 6 different clubs d’arreu de Catalunya will attend the event, ready to fight for the title of individual champions of Catalonia in one of the four competitive modalities, from BC1 to BC4.
A cop finished the competition will donate the start of the awarding of medals among the participants of a championship organized by the Catalan Sports Federation of Cerebral Palsy and that will be possible thanks to the collaboration of the Mafumet City Council, dels volunteers of the municipality and members of local entities, such as the Petanque Club, also with 40 volunteers and volunteers of Dow Tarragona, who will contribute to the correct development of this sports day, which will also be shared by representatives institutional of the City Council through the mayor, Joan Maria Sardà; i from Dow, through the Dow Nord Director of Hydrocarbons, Julia Echevarria.

Així mateix, Sardà will explain that “we are very proud to be able to support these types of activities that promote inclusion and that represent values as positive as effort, overcoming and integration, since they are also part of our full route with the Town Hall and with the people”.

Per això, estem molt proud d’haver pogut col·laborar amb this woeful initiative, which goes beyond esport”.
