The Urban Guard of Tarragona arrested this Monday, May 9, at 7:00 p.m., a 37-year-old man for an alleged crime of reckless driving, for attacking the agents, for a crime against public health, for driving without a license car and for doing so under the influence of drugs.
An Urbana crew observed, while stopped at a traffic light, how a Peugeot 307 was traveling at high speed. The car overtook the police at Doctor Mallafré street and the agents got out after it.
When the vehicle noticed the presence of the Guardia Urbana car, instead of stopping, it decided to step on the accelerator and accessed the N-240 road until it reached the neighborhood of San Ramón and Sant Salvador, without respecting the traffic signals.
In addition, according to the Urbana in a statement, the offender decided to circulate in the opposite direction, putting pedestrians at risk. Despite the police persecution, he even managed to reach almost the municipality of Perafort.
La Urbana required the help of the Mossos d’Esquadra to carry out the arrest.
When they were able to stop the man and made him get out of the car, the agents verified that there was also a companion and a minor in the vehicle.
Once arrested, they found hashish in the vehicle and, after performing the drug test, it was positive.
