An injury to Ari Sánchez’s left adductor and the impossibility of performing 100% on the court has led to his elimination, partnering with Paula Josemaría, in the round of 16 of the Circus Brussels Padel Open. In their debut in the competition, the Reus and the Extremadura fell this Thursday by 2/6, 7/5 and 6/3 against Ester Carnicero and Lucía Martínez, who have thus earned their pass to the quarterfinals.
“On Monday training I suffered an injury to the left adductor. I decided to travel and test the sensations on the track. The reality is that I have not been able to give 100% of myself and together with the great level of the rivals we have not been able to win”, he explained. Ari herself on her social networks.
Ari and Paula started as second seeds and had reached the final in the four tournaments of the women’s world professional circuit played so far, all of them against the numbers 1 Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay, with the Reusense and the Extremaduran rising with the victory in Vigo.
As soon as he returns to Barcelona, Ari will start his recovery period with the aim of recovering as soon as possible and being ready for the next event on the calendar, the Danish Padel Open that they will play from May 19 to 22 at Royal Stage Hillerød.
