The Sabor Salou gastronomic fair returns, after three years of absence as a result of the pandemic. It will do so on the weekend of May 6, 7 and 8 at Passeig Jaume I in the municipality, where a total of 35 local restaurants will meet to offer their tastings, at a price of three euros. In the sample you can also find wines, beer, gourmet products and protected designations of origin of the demarcation.
The stands and terraces will be located in the initial section of Passeig Jaume I, next to the cybernetic fountains. A small stage where every evening from 8:00 p.m. there will be music aimed at young audiences will accompany the fair, in which throughout the weekend wine tastings, cooking classes, culinary workshops for the little ones will also be offered. the house and recycling workshops, among others.
The confirmed participating firms are Restaurant d’Albert, Mesón Restaurant Pa i Oli, Altaglio, Lunattic, Rock & Grill café, Plans de festa, Ona cervesa, Castillo de Javier, Malapecora by Bandarra, Thai Salou, Arena Restaurant, Huma, El Rinconcito de Manel, Theater away, The Indian Curry House, Serveis Vicamar, Sama Sama, Costa ’95, Wine Palace, Morabito Group, Pepe’s & Lugano, Koko Beach, Deltamar, El peixet d’en Dani, Nova Catering SL, Nova Events & Catering SL, Empanada Club, Coques de Perafita, Daniel Salinas. The Institut Català del Vi, Coca-Cola and San Miguel will also be present.
The general director of Turisme de Catalunya, Marta Domènech, will be in charge of opening the fair, as announced at the presentation of Sabor Salou, which was attended by the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados; the Councilor for Economic Dynamization, Hèctor Maiquez, and the technical director of the event, Andrea Mazzanti, as well as the Councilor for Youth and Children, Julia Gómez; and the Councilor for Cultural Services, Xavier Montalà.
Mayor Pere Granados considered during the presentation that ‘Sabor Salou’ “is a very good way to promote Salou gastronomy and a very good opportunity for participating Salou establishments.” He also thanked the work of Economic Dynamization and the Municipal Tourist Board to carry out the fair.
The councilor of this area, Hèctor Maiquez, described the event as the “most popular” of the gastronomic agenda that Salou offers throughout the year and that right now, every Thursday, the Tasta Salou is running, for example.
For her part, the technical director of Sabor Salou, Andrea Mazzanti, explained that “people visit the fair for many reasons, to taste the gastronomy, but also to find all the gastronomic offers represented in the municipality, in the 35 exhibitors”.
He recalled that in the last edition held, that of 2019, 50,000 tastings were served and there were more than 42,000 visitors. A figure that if the weather is good could be exceeded between the next 6, 7 and 8 May.
